Join the discussion on Thursday 13th July, where experts from Square One Law will be talking about all kinds of topics, from Brexit to management of data, from the trend towards flexible working to time and money saving initiatives to resolve civil disputes outside of the court system.
Speakers
Jean-Pierre van Zyl, head of the employment team, will discuss the trend towards flexible employment in the gig economy, the arrangements that work and those that don’t as well as how to effectively protect your organisation’s intellectual property and business contacts from competition.
Helen Brain, partner in the commerical team, will discuss the implications of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) due to come into force in May 2018. She will outline the upcoming changes and the consequences for non-compliant businesses.
EU and competition partner, Neil Warwick is also Chair of the Brexit Committee for a national business organisation. He will provide an update on current developments which aims to outline the legal process for leaving the EU. In addition he will provide insight on issues businesses should be addressing immediately including supply chains, local context rules, work permits, EU funding and repayments/clawbacks.
Gillian Tatt, head of litigation, will discuss the repercussions arising from the efforts to make the civil court system self-funding. She will look at the most practical cost effective options currently available to deal with business disputes, as well as considering alternative forms of dispute resolution including expert determination and mediation in an ever changing economic climate.
