A Newcastle technology consultancy has announced that they will be joined by a representative of Amazon at their upcoming event.

hedgehog lab hopes that their Innovate Now event will provide insight into the possibilities generated by integrating conversational user interfaces into business offerings, and the benefits both users and businesses enjoy as a result of doing so.

Amazon’s Technical Evangelist for Amazon Alexa, Andrea Muttoni, will present a detailed overview of the rise of voice-enabled experiences, before sharing some of the most impressive and influential use cases he has found on his travels.

Andrea will be followed by Martin Jackson, Northumbrian Water Group’s Head of IS Strategy and Enterprise Architecture. Jackson will provide a slightly different perspective, exploring the business case for adoption as he expands on how his organisation is integrating conversational interactions to improve customer experience.

Northumbrian Water Group has been exploring the use of natural language interfaces in their business since July 2017, when it held its first ever NWG Innovation Festival. Attended by more than 1,000 people representing 140 organisations, participants at the festival looked at how they can work together to tackle a range of problems, including the way people will live and work in 2030.

hedgehog lab’s CEO Sarat Pediredla said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome both Andrea and Martin to our Newcastle headquarters for our third Innovate Now event.”

“Our previous events have proven hugely popular with decision-makers across the region, and it’s a testament to that success that we’ve been able to attract brands like Amazon and Northumbrian Water to present at our event.”

“As a company, we’ve been pioneering the idea that conversational interactivity can and will transform some industries for a long time now. We’ve released a great deal of our research and insight on the matter, and so I’m personally very excited to hear what Andrea and Martin have to say.”
Developers can also sign up to see Muttoni present at Amazon’s free Alexa Skills Workshop, taking place at Jury’s Inn earlier in the day.

Established in 2010, hedgehog lab builds apps for mobile, tablets and other devices. The company also offers high-end connected and immersive solutions. Innovate Now is invite-only.
