Following its recent acquisition of 122 Bupa care homes, care provider HC-One has appointed Newcastle’s Nigel Wright as its recruitment partner for the staffing project.
Creating 130 new roles, HC-One is looking to fill roles at a range of levels, across IT, HR, marketing and hospitality, sales, finance, procurement and operations.
The acquisition of the 122 Bupa care homes will see HC-One become the largest provider of care in the UK, further boosting HC-One’s position as a leading employer in Darlington. HC-One will be investing in developing its current site in Darlington to accommodate this expansion.
David Smith, HC-One’s CFO, said: “We are delighted to announce the creation of these 130 news jobs in Darlington, re-enforcing our commitment to the area and to expanding our position as an employer in the local economy at such an exciting time for HC-One.
“We are delighted to have selected Nigel Wright Recruitment as our recruitment partner for this major staffing project. The quality of their candidate selection process and their extensive network helped to make it an easy decision for us. We are already enjoying working with their project management team in co-ordinating this extensive recruitment assignment.

We are proud to provide an array of sector-leading career opportunities and support, and continually invest in our colleagues’ training and development. As a company, we are committed to listening to our colleagues, acting on their feedback and empowering them to achieve their ambitions.”
The team at Nigel Wright is being led by Group Executive Director, Mark Simpson, who commented: “This is a strategically important project for us and for HC-One.
“We are delighted to have been entrusted to identify and recruit so many quality candidates to uphold HC-One’s values as the company embarks on this important stage of its development. HC-One’s expansion is great for Darlington and the North East region as a whole, to have such a significant employer creating jobs here.”
