Following the success of the first Future Focus SEND Careers Fair last year, I would like to invite you to the next one we have planned on Wednesday May 8th from 11.00am – 4.00pm, to be held at The Parks Leisure Centre, North Shields.
The event will focus on 4 key areas
- Traineeships
- Employment opportunities
- Help and Guidance (aimed specifically at parents and will include information on benefits, access to work etc)
- Enrichment Activities
- Foundation Learning
Finding work can be such a challenge for young people but for young people with special educational needs, this can be an extremely daunting time for them and their families. The aim this year is to invite a lot more schools and parents to the event and to provide as much information as possible about what happens when the young person leaves education and the options and opportunities which are available to them.
We would welcome any disability confident employers, even if you have no current vacancies to attend as the aim of this event is to showcase the range of opportunities and different types of roles that are available to these young people.
