Dynamo North East, in partnership with Waterstons, is hosting a Driving Digital Construction Innovation Day on 22nd November at the Northern Design Centre. A one-day, ultra-collaborative event, aimed at tackling real world, gritty problems in the Construction industry. Four unique challenges, each put forward by a North East based organisation, are up for conquering.

The innovation day will bring together a wide selection of the region’s talent, from across all sectors, disciplines, organisations and backgrounds (not just construction) to join forces, pool ideas and experience, to develop creative solutions to industry wide construction problems.

We want to drive digital construction – starting right here in the North East, exploiting the opportunity to showcase the region’s skills, talent and reputation as leaders in digital construction.

If you’re passionate about solving problems, keen to embrace new ways of thinking and want to help drive innovation through collaboration, we’ve got four quite different challenges to light your fire.

THE CHALLENGES

Driving Traceability – IC3
How do we define the scope and information requirements for the “Digital Record” of a building, as recommended in the Hackitt Review of the Grenfell Tower tragedy? This key component of the “golden thread” of information is essential to ensuring that complete, accurate and maintained building information is available for the safe management of High Risk Residential Buildings.

Driving Efficiency – Northumbrian Water
How can Northumbrian Water successfully collect digital data to efficiently manage all of their assets?

Driving Capability – Bowmer & Kirkland
With thousands of paper based Supply Chain Capability Assessments produced and appraised across the industry, can we overhaul the process using technology to bring efficiency and capability gains throughout the supply chain?

Driving Change – Your Homes Newcastle
How can YourHomesNewcastle successfully manage cultural change and impact alongside the adoption of BIM?

Numbers are limited, and teams will be formed to ensure an even spread of members, skills and experience.
