Newcastle software house Nebula Labs have partnered with leading personal trainer Frankie G Clark to develop an app so people can have their favourite personal trainers in the palm of their hand – whether working out at home or in the gym.
North East based Frankie, who has supported thousands of people including celebrity clients with exercise and health eating programmes, decided to move her support to an online community during the pandemic. Since then many people still prefer to work out virtually and for those going back to the gym, WERKit helps give confidence they are working out in the best possible way.
Frankie said “Like so many people, when the first lockdown happened I struggled, and, having had mental health issues previously, I knew I had to keep focusing to help myself – and also wanted to keep helping other people. By moving my work online, I enjoyed being able to reach many more people and so the idea of the app came about. WERKit complements the online community I’ve been building since then, but also offers a low cost platform that other health and fitness trainers can join.
“So many people have found the benefits of working with trainers online now, and WERKit bridges the gap between getting back to the gym and continuing with online programmes. WERKit also suits you if you do go the gym and want that support a personal trainer can give you – you have your very own right on your phone at a low cost.
“It’s great for personal trainers too. Workouts can be recorded and directly uploaded from your phone or easily from professional cameras and support is provided for set up, branding, and how to best to use the software to provide high value content at a low cost financially and time wise.”
Dylan McKee, CEO of Nebula Labs said, “Many personal trainers and instructors have had to move their services online, which can be both time consuming, technical and expensive. We wanted to develop an app that offers a professional platform at low cost, to benefit both instructors and their clients, giving one easy to use place to follow your favourite personal trainers and workouts, and a cost-effective platform for trainers to offer to their community. We were delighted to partner with Frankie to make sure we were developing a platform that would fulfil the needs of the industry.”
WERKit offer clients a simple subscription that gives you access to your trainer’s programmes, get alerts when they release new videos, log your progress with Apple Health, and plan your journey at your own pace.

Lions spotted in Alnwick!
If you’re looking for some summer family fun take a trip to Alnwick where you can now go lion spotting!
Newcastle based Nebula Labs has developed the Percy Lion Trail app for Alnwick Community Trust. The app guides you around the town, with information about various points, to spot Percy the Lion along the way. The 3D animated Percy Lion pops up on the app in certain locations – and it even lets you take your photo with Percy when you’ve spotted him!
It’s a great way to get the kids out and about for a walk around the beautiful town of Alnwick (also suitable for big kids too!) and have fun along the way.
You can get the app for IoS on:
This is the latest in a series of family fun trail apps Nebula Labs have delivered, previous ones included North Tyneside’s Snowman and Snowdog trail.
