Paul McEldon OBE

I was involved with Sunderland Software City since inception, and their closer alliance with Dynamo felt like a natural progression for me to support. I am inspired by the sense of community that Dynamo brings to the region’s tech sector.

As the CEO of the North East Business and Innovation Centre, my responsibilities encompass a wide array of tasks and initiatives aimed at fostering business growth and innovation in the region.

• Facilitating the establishment of nearly 5,000 businesses, empowering individuals to embark on the entrepreneurial journey across the region.
• Expanding our operational footprint to manage four large business facilities, equipped with cutting-edge ICT infrastructure, hosting close to 1,000 businesses, many of which are in the tech sector, over the last three decades.
• Spearheading the development of the largest social enterprise team of business advisers in the country, dedicated to supporting both start-up and established business development across the region, showcasing our commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth.

Regular meetings with David Dunn serve as a cornerstone of my approach to staying informed about the latest trends and advancements in the tech sector.

Outside of work, I enjoy indulging in hobbies such as football, spending quality time with my family, and attending live performances of late 70s/early 80s punk bands to relish their music while they are still active.
