What inspires you to get involved with Dynamo?
This was a fantastic opportunity, something I am really passionate about. Despite significant achievements in the tech sector in the North East, there remain numerous challenges and untapped opportunities. Collaborating with like-minded individuals on the advisory board, I firmly believe we possess a distinctive opportunity to expedite the growth of talent and expertise in the region, and that prospect truly excites me!

What does your day-to-day job outside of Dynamo entail?
I work for Amazon Web Services (AWS), most weeks, I am based in London, where I lead a division within our UK Public Sector Team. My routine involves a diverse mix of activities, from meetings with various Government Departments in Westminster to participating in conferences, where discussions about GenAI are at the forefront (who isn’t talking about it at the moment!). Additionally, you might find me working from either our Holborn or Shoreditch office.

What three achievements are you most proud of in your career so far, and why are you proud of them?

How do you stay informed about tech sector industry trends and advancements?
Staying abreast of trends and advancements in the tech sector is crucial, especially in the fast-paced landscape of a Global Tech organization. Despite the wealth of resources available, staying ahead remains a challenge. Personally, I navigate this by actively engaging in networking with peers, subscribing to industry newsletters, and endless LinkedIn scrolling. These avenues provide valuable insights and ensure that I stay well-informed in a tech environment where advancements are accelerating more rapidly than ever.

What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m invested in a unique set of hobbies and interests. Given my role as a parent to three young children, my “hobbies” often involve shuttling them to various weekend activities and cheering from the sidelines at North East football pitches. Since I spend three or four days a week working in London, I’ve developed a keen interest in exploring and discovering some great restaurants in the city—an area where I particularly excel.
