Sintons’ tech specialism rewarded with Dynamo membership

Law firm Sintons has joined Dynamo North East, an industry-led initiative promoting the North East as a hot spot for tech and digital business.

Newcastle-based Sintons has become a member of Dynamo, a group focused on growing the region’s tech sector. Dynamo, which has won plaudits nationally for its work, champions the North East as a hotspot for tech firms in the UK, and supports the region’s many fast-growing firms from start-up through to scale-up and beyond.

Sintons is recognised for its strength and expertise in this area with senior associate, Lucy Cook, identified as a subject matter expert in the go-to legal guides (Chambers and the Legal 500) with commentators in Chambers 2018 commenting that she “stands out as a solicitor who genuinely understands how technology businesses work”.

Lucy, who was singled out as a “Next Generation Lawyer for IT and telecoms in the North” in Legal 500 and formerly worked in-house for FTSE 100 technology business Sage, said: “Here at Sintons we look forward to playing an active role in the group and to promoting the North East’s tech strength nationally and internationally”.

Sintons – which hosted Dynamo’s board meeting in July – joins the 150-strong membership who work in the North East’s tech sector, which collectively represent over 40,000 people, with members coming from businesses, technology hubs, education, local government and employer support initiatives.

The Corporate and Commercial team at Sintons, recognised by Legal 500 as a “regional heavyweight” and named as one of the North East’s most active advisors in the first half of 2018, is enjoying a period of sustained growth for the firm, underpinned by client service excellence and a continued focus on the recruitment and retention of outstanding legal talent.

Stuart Lynn, Vice Chair of Dynamo North East and, like Lucy Cook, formerly of Sage said: “Dynamo North East is delighted to extend a very warm welcome to Sintons. The North East tech and digital sector, as well as growing faster than anywhere outside of London, now boasts a thriving ecosystem of tech and digital companies, supported by a plethora of specialist knowledge and service providers such as Sintons.”
