NRG lead the way in changing perceptions of customer contact careers

NRG is part of a new initiative driven by the private and public sector throughout the North East, with the aim of changing perceptions of working in the customer contact industry.

The customer contact industry is experiencing huge growth due to re-shoring work from abroad, with over 3,700 new job announcements being made over the past year. NRG is part of a group, comprising the seven local authority investment teams, LEPs and other partners, to collectively develop an action plan ensuring contact and shared service centres have the flow of people required to succeed.

The North East Customer Contact Partnership aims to work together with the region’s contact and shared service centres promoting career progression opportunities through positive PR and engagement activities, to attract new talent to the sector.

The first collaboration event to be held is on 12th September launched by Ann-Marie Stagg, CEO of CCMA, Call Centre Management Association. Ann-Marie will provide an overview of the challenges and opportunities for the sector and set the scene before moving on to facilitated discussions in groups to debate key issues, gauge the appetite for a regional forum and agree some practical actions, priorities and next steps.

The event is open to senior decision makers in Contact Centres and Shared Service Centres with HR, Recruitment, Marketing or operational backgrounds.
