The Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC) National Awards ceremony took place on Friday 23rd September and saw NatWest win Best Intranet with Oak Engage. Nearly 400 internal communication professionals came together to celebrate at the awards dinner and the standard of entries was higher than ever.
The awards recognises internal communications of the highest standards and champions the impact that internal communication has on organisations, society and people at work. They celebrate the best of the work communication professionals do every day.
Oak Engage worked with NatWest on their award-winning platform which enabled them to get the right message to the right people at the right time and avoid information overload and comms fatigue, which increased engagement across their 80,000 employees.
Alan Harris, Director of Internal Communications at NatWest Group said: “Oak Engage has transformed the way we communicate, delivering a single news feed which aligns with our ‘one bank’ strategy. Consolidating our offering has created a clear channel for communications and a single source of truth. We’re already seeing positive engagement from colleagues. Oak has also given our colleagues more control. They can now personalise their news experience, adapt based on their interactions, follow topics of interest and opt out of communications that are less relevant – this is adding real value.”
“I’m always proud of our internal communications team at NatWest Group but never more so than last Friday as the team put in an amazing showing at the awards. It was a wonderful evening and a fantastic reminder of why I love working in this industry.”
Oak is trusted by some of the biggest brands in the world including Aldi, Boohoo, Five Guys and ITV to name a few. They combine a traditional intranet with a next-generation employee communications app which empowers internal comms teams to do more with less.
