Technology consultant and Microsoft MVP, Shahid Iqbal, will be in the North East this month to deliver a talk to the region at TusPark, Newcastle.
With over a decade of experience in .NET, Shahid has spoken at events across the globe including NDC in Oslo and Sydney. The 21 January will see him bring his Solving Microservices challenges on Kubernetes platform to Newcastle ahead of his talk at NDC London.
Speaking on his trip to the region, Shahid Iqbal said: “I’m excited to be visiting the North East again and speaking to the local developer/technical community. Sharing knowledge and encouraging a new generation of developers is a passion of my mine and it’s so important to support regional technology hubs to spread the knowledge and jobs across the country, rather than focusing on a few major cities.”
The event is organised by North East-based company NCFE, who provide a whole host of quality educational services including vocational awarding, apprenticeship services and more. With a strong heritage stretching back over 170 years, NCFE is committed to changing lives through learning and has supported millions of UK learners into employment. Based in Quorum Business Park in Newcastle, NCFE invests significantly in its large in-house IT team who drive forward continuous improvement and innovation through the use of the latest technology. 2019 is an exciting year as they work on a strategic improvement programme, which is a green field site when it comes to technology. With an amazing team already in place at NCFE, they are continually expanding the team to deliver new projects.
Lindsey Gibson, Head of Group IT at NCFE said, “We’re really passionate about the North East and the tech talent that we have here so we wanted to give something back. It’s great that Shahid accepted our invitation to be a speaker, his wealth of knowledge should offer some real insights and fantastic takeaways. The event at TusPark should be both beneficial and of interest to those interested in Microservices.
As the event will be hosted on Blue Monday, we’ll be welcoming donations to local mental health charity, Mental Health Concern, which does fantastic work in the region on behalf of the NHS and local authorities in the North East. Refreshments will also be provided and it will be a positive, interesting environment for all attendees.”
