Over the next 10 years when most of the kids will be joining the workforce, technology and programming will be a massive skill and we’d like to help get the kids interested now so they are prepared for their future.
I’ve been running the Kids Digital Maker Party event in Newcastle with the support of Opencast Software for over a year now. It is a free technology event for kids to try out and play with technology. We’ve had robots, augmented reality iPhone apps, BBC Microbits, raspberry pi’s, even making their own heartbeat monitors!
We’ve had tremendous success since we started last August. We’ve put on 3 events with the last having approximately 70 kids.
We’re hoping you could help us in inspiring the technologists of the future and are looking for sponsors for our next event on October 1 where we are having some new things like drones, and virtual reality. We are forecasting between 100 and 150 kids (with parents) for this event.
Any sort of help is hugely appreciated!
