Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprenticeship

The University of Sunderland is actively recruiting to our degree apprenticeship programmes and the Digital Apprenticeship Service is now fully operational. The Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6) programmes which are actively recruiting for a start in the week commencing 3rd October include:

  • Chartered Manager
  • Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineering)

The Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineering) Degree Apprenticeship may be of particular interest to those in the IT sector.  The Sunderland apprenticeship was developed in collaboration with Accenture and has been running successful since 2015. Sunderland has  a 96% retention rate for degree apprenticeships and the achievement rate for degrees with a significant work based element (eg sandwich degrees) is 93%.

Our Degree apprenticeship are delivered over 3 years (full 48week years) on a day release basis. We have adopted a blended learning approach with lectures, group work and coaching. The University of Sunderland places a strong emphasis on work-based learning and projects, working closely with employers to ensure projects and modules are relevant to your business and that study is adaptable to work commitments.

The programmes are open to new or existing employees of any age with the appropriate Level 3 qualifications. Our degree apprenticeships qualify for government funding via the apprenticeship levy (larger employers) or the co-investment fund (SMEs receive 90% funding). Induction takes place week commencing 25th September with teaching beginning 6th  October.
