The launch of the Healthcare Innovation Readiness Programme will take place on Tuesday 26th January 2021.

The purpose of the event is to enhance businesses knowledge of the approaches to help articulate the value of a product or service offering, and guide attendees through the process of how to develop their own version, targeted at selling into the healthcare sector.

Target audience: Businesses from across the North East from a healthcare service provider background or a supplier of goods background or potentially both or with aspirations to work within this growing sector.

The workshop programme will consist of a pre-diagnostics session, two value proposition workshops and 1-1 support from the AHSN NENC and Supply Chain NE (of up to 12 hours of support provided).

The workshops will provide an introduction to the value proposition approach and will also cover topics on the regulatory approval pathway, supply chain readiness & innovation processes and access to funding streams and procurement frameworks in the healthcare sector, followed by a presentation on understanding the landscape of the NHS, its local priorities it presents to SMEs and the opportunities.

Workshop 1 Programme – 26th January 2021, 1pm – 4.00pm

1. Introduction to Value Proposition Approach

Outline of the support programme available and an awareness on this approach to articulate the value of a product or service offering, and guide attendees through how to develop their own version, in relation to selling into the Healthcare Sector.

2. Understanding of the NHS landscape

How to navigate and take advantage of the opportunities, and the routes to market for Innovative business solutions aimed at the Healthcare Sector.

3. Supply Chain Readiness and Innovation Processes

Provide an understanding of how to establish and maintain an effective and reliable Supply Chain, for materials, components, and services for your products.

4. Next steps and way forward

Offer of optional 1-1 support available to SMEs.

Workshop 2 Programme – 16th February 2021, 1pm – 4.00pm

1. Regulatory Approval Pathway

Understanding the routes and requirements, for innovators and businesses looking to launch new products into the Healthcare sector .

2. Procurement Frameworks

Outline of NHS procurement frameworks and Dynamic Procurement System and how they are different between social care and health care.

3. Funding and Support in Healthcare Sector

Access to the various funding streams and support available.
